Generosity + Imagination = Fun and Support for AHCAP


2008 Scholarship Fundraising Raffle

The Sixth Annual Scholarship Fundraising Committee (formerly named Silent Auction) of the Association of Healthcare Administrative Professionals is being held in conjunction with the 2008 Annual Conference in Boston, MA June 18 – 20.

You can support this event at the AHCAP Annual Conference by:

  • Donating items for the scholarship raffle
  • Soliciting donations from merchants, artists, manufacturers… even your hospital’s gift shop
  • Purchasing items at the scholarship raffle


While there is no obligation for any member to donate an item, the more participation, the more fun it will be and the more financial support we can give to AHCAP.  The revenue from this event is the sole funding for the AHCAP Scholarship Program which helps deserving members of AHCAP attends conference through financial scholarships.

Individuals may donate items or a chapter may donate as a group.   Here are some suggestions:

  • Unique specialty items from your area of the country (gift baskets, cookbooks, etc)
  • Handcrafted items such as quilts, scarves, and woodworking
  • Gift certificates to national chain restaurants or department store for use anywhere.
  • Edible items, i.e. candies or wines
  • Tickets or passes to special functions (theatre, sporting events, etc.)
  • Educational materials such as books, magazine subscriptions, memberships

Join us in supporting our 2008 AHCAP Community Initiative:

The Women’s Lunch Place


AHCAP leadership has chosen The Women’s Lunch Place (WLP) as AHCAP’s 2008 community assistance initiative in Boston. WLP is a daytime shelter where homeless/in need women and their children find support, friendship, a nutritious home-cooked meal and a safe haven from the streets. It provides a safe harbor to women who have suffered unbearable losses of family, friends and home where they can regain a sense of dignity and self-esteem.

Daily necessities are freely provided at the WLP. Items in need include travel sized toiletries (especially toothpaste & deodorant), office supplies (notebooks, pens, white envelopes, legal pads), monetary donations and gift cards from Stop-n-Shop, Shaw’s Supermarket, Target, CVS or Marshalls. It is our sincerest hope that, as in the past, our AHCAP family continues to support this very important initiative.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to the WLP, please make the check out to “The Women’s Lunch Place” and mail it to AHCAP National Offices before June 9th.

AHCAP will present all of the donations to a representative from WLP on Friday, June 20 during the Member Appreciation Dinner.

This lovely cookbook is a compilation of favorite AHCAP member recipes from generations of successful women!  The book has multiple classifications from drink recipes to dessert recipes and absolutely everything in between.  Generously published by Blue Cross Blue Shield, this item is a perfect gift for anyone with a kitchen!
